WELLBEING

WHAT IS
WELLBEING?

Wellbeing Care is a philosophy and support system which aims to foster the development of the “whole” student, Wellbeing focuses on long term strategies to cater for the social and emotional health of all students.

“Students move in and out of vulnerability through their school years. They don’t need to be defined by one difficult period of their lives. They do need to have different guidance and counselling options available to them to cope with whatever their personal and school life brings.”

Lorraine Mullings

HOW WE WORK:

The Secondary School pastoral system is led by the Deputy Head of student Wellbeing with the Heads of Year and tutors and supported by the LSU (Learning Support Unit).

Wellbeing care recognises the responsibility of all members of the school community to prioritise student well-being, welfare and personal development. It is both reactive and proactive and is a part of all we do in school but is a special focus of assemblies, tutor activities, Life Skills curriculum, Parent partnership, the ABC Safeguarding Policy and is supported by the LSU.
